Motor Swap In Paseo

Hello Paseo Drivers,

I am having PASEO 97 with 5E-FE

I am form Lithuania(Litauen) bought paseo few years ago, anyways now i am having big problems with engine and only the solution is to sawp engine with other one.

Here in Litauen, paseo never been sold officially, so it's kind very rare car, so kind imposible to find another engine.

So I am thinking to get one from Germnay.

So My Questions Is:

What kind of motors i can swap in my paseo (i read in this forum that 5efhe and 4efte easily fits, is that right?)?

For example if i put 5efhe engine in my paseo (not stock 5efe) will I have to change other parts like transmition?

Is it hard in Germany to find motor for sale (5efe or these ones "5efhe and 4efte")?

And a littile informations about prices, for how much i can get motor there?

Acoording to THIS Thread the following engines should fit easily:

5 EFHE (Toyota Cynos, only sold in Japan)   
4 EFTE (Starlet Glanza, JDM aswell)     ->  "SirPaseo" has a Glanza 1.3 Turbo in his Paseo

Paseo and Starlet share the same engine-compartment and the same fixations for the engine itself.


Also according to User "Fiffi" both 4AGE Silver- and Blacktop would fit in the engine-compartment aswell but may differ in their fixations.

So if i get everything right if i swap my engine with 5efhe or 4efte, so I will not need to replace anything else? is it possible to get any of these engines in Germany?

Well I guess youll need to replace some stuff if you try to build another engine into your Paseo but as I said, best is to ask "Fiffi" "SirPaseo" "Bastel" or "Blade1988" because iirc they know best about the Paseo

I dont know all that needs to be replaced, but AFAIK you need changes to the harness, the ECU and IIRC the gear.
Better wait a few more hours untill some other people answered your post since I dont know it all Sure is: its not Plug&Play =/
